Watermarks and Copyrights

Happy first day of spring, lovelies!

I have been a busy bee, trying to finish up winter quarter, get my spring sessions in, get my upcoming sessions in gear and not lose my mind.
As some of you know, I launched my burlesque name, and page on Facebook. Holy cow, what a different world than I thought! (maybe I should start a burlesque blog, too) On top of the separation of my personal and public pages, I also separated the photography pages as well. I am rather proud of myself, for keeping my original page and keeping it just for family friendly photos. Also about how much JaneilB Photography page has grown in just over a week! (almost to 50 likes!)

With the growing popularity of the page, and my resident model, some of my images have been getting ripped off.

Now, I do not have an extensive knowledge of watermarking and copyrighting things, so I've never really done those before. I have played around and found a few that were too complicated and integrate for me to keep duplicating over and over again.

Fast forward to now and the growing popularity of the pages. I had to do something and quick! I placed a band aid over it by accrediting my page. After some further research and days of looking at other photographers work, I decided I had to create a watermark.

Here is what I came up with today, on the spot as I was reading how to create a simple watermark in CS6. (CS6 is what I run and operate)
Below is the link to the original post that I did my steps from.

http://www.adoseofpaige.com/2013/06/using-actions-to-watermark-your-photos/

It was pretty much a black and white instructions, and after making myself familiar with CS6 actions, I was able to come up with this image.

I am very proud of the watermark I came up with. According to the article, it should dup easily. I am about to give it a try.

There it is my ranting on watermarking and why it is important.
I am still editing Stella's Play Room session. That should be up in a few hours!!
Thank you lovelies!
XOXOXOXO

  1. Dear JaneilB,
    Hi,Hope you doing well.
Not Sure if you knew this, but your website has some problem, that cutting down your clients/customers downwards and going a very negative impact to your new clients..
I have spend upto 5 to 10 minutes on your website looking around and found:
    1- It doesn't works good on mobile/tablets.
2-It doesn't have arrangements to capture client's/customer's/enquiry properly.
4-The loading speed is too low.The product images are not good.
5-It is really very very outdated (Made in 2014) as compared to your business competitor's websites.
